Youth Club Benefits
Community Service
Our youth club members learn the importance of community service as every task they perform for IRCC contributes directly to the community. They work actively on spreading awareness about Indian culture within the local community.
Responsibility
Members get to take on major responsibilities working on events hosted by IRCC. Each task signifies a commitment to the IRCC organization that the youth need to meet. They learn the skills of planning, fund raising, organizing and hosting community events.
Leadership
The IRCC youth club offers its members the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills. The youth club is operated by a youth-led Board of Directors and they take on significant leadership roles of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Public Speaking
Youth club members also get opportunities for public speaking through IRCC where they not only make election speeches but also get emceeing roles at major events. They speak about Indian culture and how it is expressed through music and dance.
Commitments from Youth Club members and parents
Youth Club Membership
It brings us joy when high school students (Open to all ethnicities residing in the local community) enroll as IRCC Youth Club members. There are volunteer opportunities for members to earn service hours and learn leadership, event planning, teamwork, time management, public speaking, and many more skills. To volunteer in IRCC events, it is required that youth (ninth grade and up) from the community enroll as IRCC Youth Club members. Upon enrollment, as IRCC Youth Club members, there are some commitments and responsibilities which are expected of members and their parents. It is possible that many of the enrolled members are already involved in other extracurricular activities, school sports, and clubs. Therefore, IRCC strongly urges that when a member signs up to volunteer, they must ensure that they prioritize to fulfill their commitment to IRCC events or the Youth Club office. Youth Club members will earn service hours for the exact time they are actively volunteering during the events. Youth Club members’ volunteering at the IRCC events is highly appreciated. Their involvement with IRCC helps in spreading awareness about Indian culture within the local diverse communities while keeping the Indian American community together.
