The weather forecast said 90% chance of rain. But the weather gods smiled upon us and gave us a bright and beautiful afternoon to play Holi!
Thank you to the community for the large turnout at the IRCC Holi event on April 3, 2022 at Miramar Regional Park! Thank you for abiding by the rules to keep the area as clean as possible, and for respecting those who did not want to get colors on them.
The morning began with the IRCC Board members, youth club volunteers and the help crew arriving bright and early on Sunday morning to set up the pavilion for the event. Picnic tables were arranged, table cloths were spread, signs were put up, snacks and drinks were laid out, the reception tables were set up. A big shout-out and thank you to Shveta Kumar and 1800GiftPortal.com for sponsoring the soan papdi boxes given out to attendee families – this was a welcome first! Varun, our friendly neighborhood DJ, and his team provided high-energy entertainment including dance performances as people were getting their admissions validated, purchasing “pichkaris” and all the while, Rakesh and the team from Palace Indian Restaurant were setting out the delicious lunch buffet.
The IRCC Board is thrilled to be able to bring back in-person events to our South Florida community. Our next event will be the membership appreciation bowling afternoon in August.
